MINISTERING ANGELS AND FAMILY TIES
I sometimes wonder how often we’ve been protected by ministering angels without knowing it. We planned to leave home Tuesday morning, en route to Boise, Idaho. There we would meet with family and friends, after which we would drive up the Payette River to McCall for grandnephew Gavin’s wedding.

Angel in the clouds on blue sky
Monday night and Tuesday morning, our Paigey had blood in her stools. We knew we couldn’t take her to her sitter in that condition and besides, we wanted to know if she was okay.
I called the vet, who put Paige on a medication to stop the bleeding. We asked God for his wisdom regarding our trip, and he gave that to us. While we thought of canceling the trip, we agreed to wait until Wednesday morning to see how Paigey was doing on the new medication.
Rest Rather than Rush
Since we had nothing except travel on our Tuesday calendar, we rested. We were fatigued following a very busy week, and took a lovely two-hour nap in the afternoon, something we haven’t had time to do for awhile, but that always refreshes us both.
It felt so good not to have anywhere we had to be by a certain time.
That night we went to bed, packed and ready to go or stay.
And in the morning, Paigey had no bloody stool (sorry, Paige, don’t get embarrassed–it’s just medical stuff). So Don packed the car and we took Paigey to Mary’s, then continued on our way.
A Likely Collision
Somewhere along the freeway, the car to my right began to move into our lane. Despite my honking and braking, he never stopped, just moved right into our lane. While braking, I moved a bit to my left but was aware there was a truck there. While the initial car never acknowledged his misjudgment, we did not collide. Angels? God’s watchcare? We were thankful and, when we later passed the truck that had been on our left, waved our thanks that he was alert and saw what was happening. The situation could so easily have become a bad accident.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11
Leaving a day late shortened our visiting time in Boise to an evening with son Victor and his two sons, niece Karen and her husband John, and an overnight with Karen and John, who are wonderful hosts.
The next morning we met nephew Josiah and his wife, Amanda, for a delightful breakfast and visit at The Grille.

From there, we drove along the Payette river to McCall, a beautiful resort town. There we enjoyed Gavin and Kenzie’s wedding on the lake before heading back home.

Angels are one way God encourages and reaches out to help us daily. Scripture references angels, who do God’s bidding. The gratitude is not to the angels, but to the God who directed them. Don and I thanked God for his protection and watchcare over us.
Angels are agents and messengers, under God’s will and sovereign authority. In a world cursed with evil and sin with sin, it’s a comfort to know the forces of God are battling for us. (see link below)
Have you recognized a time when God rescued you, possibly through the work of his ministering angels? I’d love to hear about it.

Thank you Lord for your FAITHFUL protection of Don and Carol, and for the healing of Paigey!!
Thank you Sue. God is good!
